I'm going a little bit 'off topic' today to share with you a great experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. Sometimes it's good to take my creative ideas away from my normal niche and let people get to know me a little bit more on a personal level, this allows you to find out about some of the other things I love alongside fitness, the gym and watching sport. Soon enough I'll be back with more exciting posts about health and fitness, workouts or a delicious recipe, but for now I'm going to have some fun and share something a little bit different with you.
One of my favourite things to do is travel. I absolutely adore it. Seeing new places, learning about different cultures and meeting new people brings a massive smile to my face. It's fair to say I've been bitten by the wanderlust bug.
A couple of years ago, for my 30th birthday I got to live out one of my dreams. An American Roadtrip in an iconic muscle car. I've always wanted to drive a Mustang convertible on the wide open roads of the US and I can happily report that the experience was as exhilarating as I imagined.
My birthday trip started in Arizona before heading to Vegas, via the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam. Next, I travelled to San Francisco to visit the legendary Alcatraz which is a must see if you ever get the chance.
The next leg of the trip had me really excited. Driving south to Los Angeles and San Diego on the Pacific Coast Highway. This drive, with the top down, the ocean to my right and the forests to my left was simply breathtaking. Something I highly recommend everyone experiences at least once in their life, the scenery is absolutely stunning!
It was like a dream - Picture perfect, the wind in my hair, my favourite music providing the soundtrack. Like a scene from a movie where I was the star in the lead role! It was the most fun I've ever had on the road, an experience I will never forget.
I urge you to do it and see for yourself. I'll definitely be back - Maybe I'll see you there!
Is an American Roadtrip something you have done or would ever like to do? Share in the comments below.
