It's finally here, the road cycling World Championships also known as Yorkshire 2019 is finally underway. It doesn't seem like two minutes since we went to the launch several years ago to announce Yorkshire would be the host one of the most prestigious bike races in the world.
Yorkshire 2019 is a 9-day cycling extravaganza & our co-founder, Caroline, went to watch the men's elite time trial on Wednesday.
The time trial was a good race as a spectator as you get to see every rider go past one by one. The race itself was won by reigning champion, Rohan Dennis of Australia. As he was the last man off, the race really went down to the end.
Here is what Caroline shared to her personal Instagram account about the day:

💖⚡️My earliest memory of the Cycling Road World Championships was in 1993. I was sat in the dining room of the guest house I stayed in every year in St Johan in Tirol with my mum & dad. We went quite a few times over the years for a few weeks in August for my dad to race - He was pretty good! We sat around the small TV watching the race. For some reason, I picked the then relatively unknown, Lance Armstrong to win (which he did), much to the dismay of the Italians who were watching with us. Fast forward 26 years & I finally saw my first World Championships live yesterday when I went to Harrogate to see the men's Individual Time Trial taking place. It took a while to get there but it was worth the wait! P.S. This is the real-life of a content creator as I have both my phone & camera in my hands trying to capture the shots for myself, my biz @voltagesport & my mum's biz @penninecycles! 😂
The World Championships were the inspiration behind our rainbow collection as well!
We can't wait for the weekend when we will be watching the women's race start from our city of Bradford on Saturday & we will watch the finish of the men's race in Harrogate on Sunday.
