We all know avocados are a high trend food these days - We love it. As well as eating avocado on toast or adding it to a salad we love to make guacamole. Today we are sharing with you, what we believe to be the best guacamole recipe.
It has taken us a while to find the perfect guacamole recipe. We've found we've had the best 'guac' in America, so on our last trip there, we made sure to get some tips from the locals. With this recipe, we think we have succeeded in making the best guacamole!
There are a few tweaks you can make depending on the ingredients you have available. We sometimes substitute real limes for lemon juice in a bottle, garlic for garlic powder and fresh chilli for chilli flakes. These all make your guacamole still taste great!
Guacamole goes well with lots of food. You can have it with tortilla crisps to make the American guac and chips. It also goes well with carrots and crudités and we love to have it on the side of chilli con carne – We usually have this instead of cheese.
Like most food, homemade guacamole tastes so much better than shop bought!
The softer your avocado and more ripened it is, the easier it will be to mash up for your recipe – It will also taste better too! The best avocados we have found in England have been in farm shops, the ones in supermarkets just never seem to ripen as well as we would like.
Once all your ingredients are mixed together keep tasting it and add extra black pepper or lime juice if required.
