It feels like such a long time since we stayed up for some late nights watching the 2019 NFL Draft, it's one of our favourite things to do every year.
In the Draft, you get to see who are going to be the future stars of the teams. It gets you excited for the coming season & there's lots of talk about the game.
Then after mid-April, everything goes quiet.
Over the past month, with each team getting back into practice & having some pre-season games there has been a little bit more action. The problem is many of the starting players don't play in these games so it's hard to get too excited.
This weekend sees the start of the full season & the long wait will be forgotten. It will also give us an indication of which teams might be the ones to watch.
Of course, there are 16 weeks of ups & downs before the playoffs but it's still exciting to see who might be there until the end. Especially if your team gets off to a winning start.
We don't want to make any predictions for the season ahead just yet - In case it comes back to haunt us. It would be unusual for the Rams & the Patriots to both make it all the way to the Super Bowl again. Well, maybe not the Patriots as they are perennial winners but not both teams.
One thing we are confident of is whichever two teams do make it to the Super Bowl in February 2020, the game will be more exciting than this year, as it certainly wasn't the nailbiter we were all hoping for!
We're looking forward to Sunday evenings here in the UK, where we can watch the games, cheer on our teams & enjoy the game of American Football.
