When you look around on social media, October is certainly the month of pumpkins. Being based in the UK, we don’t think pumpkin is as popular here as it is in the USA but with the popular Pumpkin Spiced Latte (hands up if you love a PSL?!) and the like making their way to the UK shores it’s certainly a vegetable which is gaining some traction.
We love to develop new recipes and try different things which is why we wanted to create a pumpkin smoothie. We thought this is a good place to begin as we venture into pumpkin territory but also it’s been a busy few weeks so we wanted to create something which was easy. We debated starting with a savoury recipe but opted for sweet because it appears to most popular way to enjoy pumpkin.
Pumpkin Protein Smoothie Recipe
We bought our pumpkin puree online here but we think it’s becoming more popular in supermarkets, especially during October. For the vanilla protein, we went with our favourite vanilla protein from Arbonne as it’s got a nice sweetness which we thought would work well. You can shop your protein here.
We have a Nutri-Bullet which is perfect for making smoothies, we added ice to the ingredients to ensure it was nice and cold when you make a smoothie you want to enjoy it straight away! This recipe makes two small smoothies to share or you can create 1 big one!
Smoothies are our go-to drink when we want something sweet. We almost always add protein so it helps to repair the muscles and you can either have them after the gym or as a dessert depending on how you feel.
- 1 Banana
- 250g Pumpkin Puree
- 1tsp Honey
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 250 ml Almond Milk
- 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
- Mix all ingredients in blender (add ice if required).
