When you look at my social media, there is one thing you might not realise. Recently I have been lacking in motivation when it comes to working out. It is something we all go through at times, it's easy to motivate others on Instagram but when it comes to doing it myself it has been a struggle of late.
Recently I have been struggling with staying consistent when it comes to working out and eating well. I have been sporadic and my motivation has been up and down, sometimes I'm 'in the zone' and well up for it and other times I'm just not feeling it.
But you know what? I am happy to say I'm in a place where I can admit to myself and you that it's ok. There have been times throughout my journey to fitness where I would be giving myself a hard time, really beating myself up for losing focus and discipline. Not now - I've learnt through experience to take the rough with the smooth and go with it.
Tomorrow is a new day, with new possibilities and I know it's just a small bump in the road. I will be back to my old self in no time, this is a mental game and I'm ready to start dominating again!
Here are my go-to strategies to get back on track, which have worked for me in the past. If you are feeling similar when it comes to motivation these may help you too!
1 - Be honest with yourself - Re-evaluate where you're at, set some new achievable goals to work towards. Keep these manageable but testing and set a specific time frame for yourself to achieve them.
2 - Get organised - Plan your attack and write it down. Schedule your workouts and plan your healthy meals. This free meal planner can help you with this.
3 - Reward yourself - Work towards your goals and when you achieve them, no matter how small, reward yourself with something nice. This will keep you focused and more determined to keep going.
Those were my top 3 tips when it comes to getting your motivation back. These are the steps I will be taking get my own focus back when it comes to my health and fitness too.
