We saw a few recipes for avocado pasta going around the internet and it took us a little while before we decided to make it for ourselves. We combined a few of the recipes we saw to make our own creamy avocado pasta version. Since we first made it we have added it in as one of our go-to meals, it's so tasty! Simple, quick to make and good for you.
As a recipe, it's full of healthy fats from the avocado and is packed with taste from the basil and garlic. When it comes to adding water less is more, you can keep adding to it to get the right consistency. It's not the sort of sauce you want to be runny but thick and creamy.
If, like us, you love pasta but usually make tomato sauces this is a great alternative recipe. We like to add chicken to our plate for a little extra protein but this isn't essential. There are plenty of seasonings you can use to flavour your chicken, our favourites include fajita, paprika and cajun. It would also go well with some salmon on the side. Since first making this a couple of months ago it has become one of our go-to evening meals, especially through the week when we are looking for something quick but healthy. Due to the healthy fats and protein, it's also a great meal after a workout to help repair those muscles and keeps you feeling fuller for longer.
