2017 has been quite a year for us at Voltage Sport.  We thought it would be fun to share a blog post to highlight some of the incredible experiences we’ve had throughout the year.

2017 Our Best Year Yet

The Shop

Our biggest highlight has to be officially launching our online shop.  We began with our Vive Le Yorkshire t-shirts which are inspired by the Tour de Yorkshire.  This was quickly followed by our inspirational t-shirts and “Bolt” design.  In September we went to Las Vegas and launched our NFL inspired collection.  We’ve also gradually been adding to the Bolt collection with some new hats.

In September we also updated the shop to make it more user-friendly and allow purchases in different currencies.  In 2018 we’re excited to grow the current collections and maybe add some new ones too!

The Sport

We’ve watched a lot of sport including cricket in Leeds, the Tour de Yorkshire, boxing in Las Vegas, plus the NFL and basketball whilst in New York.  We also watch lots of sport on the TV but you can’t beat it live!

The Sports People

We’ve been fortunate to attend a number of events and dinners throughout 2017.  We’ve been able to meet many of the Yorkshire cricket team and Joanna Rowsell Shand who is an Olympic cyclist.  We’ve always found most sports stars to be really friendly and down to earth.

The Workouts

We’ve really mixed up our workouts throughout 2017.  Testing and trying new routines and new classes. We’ve also listened to our bodies when we needed to and taken time off.  In 2018 we’ll be focusing on our fitness again!

The Food

During 2017 we’ve eaten and cooked some great food. Whilst travelling we enjoyed a lot of pizza and at home, we’ve experimented with making new recipes.  In the new year we will be adding more recipes to the website – Both healthy & not so healthy ones too!

The Events

Throughout the year we’ve held pop-up shops to showcase our products.  These have been really fun and we’ve always had a great response.  Our co-founder, Caroline, also spoke on a panel to share our story of working with the Department of International trade and our experiences of exporting from the UK.  We also attended both Olympia and Interbike whilst we were in Las Vegas.  In December we went to the Tour de Yorkshire press conference for the 2018 route plus an NFL UK meetup in Manchester.  It’s been a busy year!
